How I save money on my phone bill

I used to be very cynical of cashback apps, that is until I downloaded Airtime rewards and managed to get almost £30.00 off of my phone bill without changing any of my spending habits.

For those who don’t know, Airtime Rewards links to your debit and credit cards, and every time you shop at a participating retailer, a percentage of the money you spent will be credited to your Airtime Rewards account as cashback.

Once you have a balance of £10 or above in cashback, you can redeem this against your phone bill!

I’m with o2 and it works really well for me, but I am not sure whether the cashback programme works for all mobile providers, so it would be worth checking this out before you download it!

As you can see I currently have £9.36 in my balance so I just need another 64p before I can redeem this against my next phone bill. I have previously redeemed £20, and I have £9.09 pending, which means that they are just waiting to make sure that I don’t return any of the items that I buy before they credit my account with the cashback - it usually takes a month or so before the cashback is confirmed.

The list of participating retailers is quite extensive. I believe they are subject to change, but current participants include:

  • Boots

  • Waitrose

  • Aldi

  • John Lewis

  • Ikea

Have any of you tried any cashback apps?
