How I spend my 40k salary as a trainee lawyer living in London

I recently filmed a video for my YouTube channel about how I spend my 40k salary living in London.

In this video, I break down exactly what I take home each month after tax, national insurance, student loan, pension and other deductions, and how I spend that money. In preparation for making the video I tracked everything that I spent from 25th January 2023 until 24th February 2023 and grouped each expenditure into a category, so you can see exactly where all of my money goes each month. Hopefully this video will help provide some insight into how I manage my money which you may find helpful, or at least slightly interesting!

I will be honest - I find living on 40k in London quite difficult, especially with the cost of living increasing, and single handedly paying the mortgage and bills on a two bedroom flat in zone 6.
